Menopause can be a great time in a women's life. It is a stepping stone to a different stage where she can live life for herself and not so much for her children because they are all grown up. Women can go experience signs of menopause at different ages. Some may breeze through it while others may suffer some mild to moderate symptoms of menopause. This is a time in a women's life when she can no longer have babies.
Menopause can cause several different complications or problems for some women; mood swings, anxiety, sleeplessness, exhausted, hot flashes, anti-social behavior, weight gain or loss, and even hair loss or thinning hair. All of the symptoms of menopause are caused by an imbalance of hormones. The body produces less estrogen and progesterone as well. This can cause hair loss to start.
When you start to feel the onset of menopause there are some things that you can do to prolong hair loss such as:
-Consult your doctor right away so that he or she will know what is going on and if needed you can start medication to treat some of the symptoms.
-Avoid using hair rollers. Now would be a great time to reinvent a hair look for you. This is a new stage in your life and you should start it out on the right foot. The tight rollers can cause damage to your scalp and permanently stop hair growth.
-Find a shampoo/conditioner that works right with your hair texture. Not everyone has normal hair texture and that is why you may need to experiment until you find the right combination for you.
-Brush your hair every morning and night gently with a brush that is not too rough or too soft. You don't want the brush to pull hard on your hair and break it. This may cause premature hair loss.
-Avoid perms and hot oil treatments. They can do permanent damage to the hair follicles.
-Avoid hair dryers because they will over dry your scalp and permanently damage it.
-Don't be afraid to spend a little more than usual on hair care products. You need it and deserve it. Your hair will thank you by staying put.
